O. J. Toks was born in Inglewood, California. Six weeks after his birth, his parents moved back with him to Nigeria where he was raised for close to 19 years. He moved back to the States in 1994. His return landed him in Richmond, Virginia, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1999. In 2003 he was ordained as a minister at Faith Alive International Ministries, the church he attended. In 2006 Toks moved to Houston, Texas, where he and his wife, Dana, currently reside.
In 2013 O. J. Toks received a Master of Arts in Practical Theology from Oral Roberts University. He has been a guest on KSBJ, CBN's turning Point International and other television and radio programs. He has written for Essence, and is the author of Rejected for a Purpose: How God Uses Rejection to Help You Find and Fulfill Your Destiny, and While You Are Single: A Guide to Finding and Keeping the Right Mate for Your Life. Both are unprecedented books, which have received rave reviews.
